Your Trusted Project Partner
Our pool liner replacement services give an existing vinyl liner pool a clean, watertight finish without the cost of a full rebuild. We drain the pool, take out the old liner, repair the floor and walls underneath, and install a new liner made to your pool’s exact measurements. Because we also build pools from the ground up, we look past the liner itself and check the coping, steps, skimmer and returns while the pool is empty, so small problems get fixed before they turn into big ones. Not sure yet? Our guide on when to replace a pool liner walks through the warning signs.
A liner replacement is a smaller job than a new pool, and we treat it with the same care. Browse recent projects below, or see more in our project gallery.
Most liners give plenty of warning before they fail. Here is what homeowners usually notice first, and how a replacement solves it.
We replace vinyl liners for homeowners throughout northeastern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, including Andover, North Andover, Chelmsford, Westford, Lexington, Nashua, Salem, Windham and Londonderry. If your town is not listed, ask us. Liner work is one of the jobs we are always happy to take on, whether or not you need anything else done in the yard.

First we visit, look at the pool and take precise measurements, because a liner is made to fit one pool only. You pick a pattern and thickness, and the liner is manufactured to those measurements. On install day we drain the pool, remove the old liner, patch and smooth the floor, add new wall foam where needed and set the new liner in the track. A vacuum pulls it tight against the walls while the pool refills, then we reinstall the faceplates and fittings. Spring and fall are the busiest times, so it helps to plan ahead. Our article on the best time of year to replace a liner explains why.
Why Mountainscapes
We design and build gunite, fiberglass and vinyl liner pools, so we know what sits behind the liner and what can go wrong there. That experience shapes every replacement, from the measurements to the final fill.
We measure walls, floor depths and slopes so the new liner fits snugly, without wrinkles or overstretching.
Choose from current patterns and colors, with standard and thicker liner options to suit how your family uses the pool.
We drain the pool, cut out the old liner and remove it from the property, so you are not left with the cleanup.
Low spots, cracks and rough patches in the floor are patched, and worn wall foam is replaced before the new liner goes in.
Skimmer, return, light and step fittings get new gaskets and faceplates, which are the usual spots for slow leaks.
We vacuum-set the liner while the pool fills, then reinstall fittings and help you get the water chemistry balanced again.
How do I know if I need pool liner replacement services?
Common signs are a water level that keeps dropping, faded or brittle vinyl, wrinkles that will not smooth out, and a liner slipping out of its track. If you are seeing two or more of these, a replacement is usually better value than repeated patching. Our guide on patching versus replacing explains the difference.
How long does a vinyl pool liner last?
It depends on water chemistry, sun exposure, how the pool is closed each winter and the liner thickness. Well-kept liners last many seasons, while poor chemistry shortens their life. We cover New England conditions in our article on how long liners last.
Can you replace the liner without draining the pool?
A full replacement means draining the pool so the old liner can come out and the floor and walls can be repaired. Draining has to be timed and managed with care, especially where groundwater is high, and that is part of the job we handle for you.
What is the best time of year for a liner replacement?
Spring and fall are popular because the pool is not in heavy use. Booking early in the season gives time for measuring and for the liner to be made, so the pool is ready when you want to swim.
Do you replace liners on pools you did not build?
Yes. Most of the liners we replace are on pools built by someone else. We measure the existing pool, check its condition and tell you honestly if anything besides the liner needs attention.
What should I ask before hiring a liner installer?
Ask how they measure, what liner thicknesses they offer, whether floor and wall repairs are included and who handles the refill. We put together a full list of questions to ask a liner installer.
