Outdoor Living Spaces for Hudson Homes

Pools, patios and features made for everyday use

Hudson sits across the Merrimack River from Nashua, with homes ranging from riverside lots to quiet streets off Routes 102 and 111. Whatever the setting, the goal is usually the same: a backyard the whole family uses on a Tuesday evening, not just on the Fourth of July. Mountainscapes designs pools, spillover spas, outdoor kitchens, fire pits and lighting for Hudson homes as one connected space, then builds it with our own team. Riverfront properties need extra planning under the state shoreland rules, and we walk you through that.

Pool Maintenance

Water balance, cleaning and equipment checks for Hudson pool owners who would rather swim than scrub.

Backyard needing a drainage system with pooling water, muddy soil, and a overflowing downspout next to a residential home.

Drainage Solutions

Catch basins, French drains and regrading so patios and pool decks shed water instead of holding puddles.

Our Method

Building a Hudson Backyard in Four Stages

// Phase 1
Listen and Measure
We start with how you want to use the space, then measure the yard, note slopes and sun, and check access for machines.
// Phase 2
Layout and Numbers
A concept places the pool, kitchen, fire pit and seating, and an early budget shows where the money goes so you can set priorities.
// Phase 3
Permits and Utilities
We prepare the Hudson building permit package, arrange Dig Safe before excavation, and add NHDES shoreland review for lots near the river.
// Phase 4
Construction Management
Excavation, plumbing, gas, electrical, masonry and planting are scheduled in sequence, with one person keeping you informed throughout.

It only takes 30 seconds.

Chris installed a beautiful gunite pool for me. My kids love it and they cherish the day it gets opened. Chris did an amazing job designing the layout. He is a true artisan. I’ve been in business for 37 years and I’ve been around countless contractors. I highly recommend Mountainscapes.

I had the need for an emergency skimmer replacement during a pool deck replacement. Mountainscapes was the only company that got back to me and came right out and fixed things up to keep my project on schedule. Chris and his team were top notch. Highly recommended.

Working with Chris and his team from MountainScapes was truly a pleasure building our pool this past year. Chris was a huge help working with the town on permitting and approvals (our town is notoriously difficult) and in helping us make our design dreams a reality.

...Today, one year post-completion, we are thrilled with the quality of MountainScapes' work. Chris, in particular, is something of a pool artist. It was truly worth it, but as homeowners you need to be prepared to be patient!

If you are considering an inground pool or any type of hardscape to your property, I would not recommend anyone other than Mountainscapes! Responsiveness, quality, professionalism!

The Difference

One Team for Every Piece of Your Hudson Yard

Pools, masonry, gas, lighting and planting coordinated in house

Outdoor living projects involve many trades: excavators, plumbers, electricians, masons and planting crews. Mountainscapes coordinates all of them under one contract. Christopher Underwood, our founder, studied Landscape Architecture, so each feature is placed with sight lines, sun and foot traffic in mind.

Trades Under One Roof

Concrete installers, electricians, plumbers and plastering crews work to one schedule, so every step happens in the right order.

Service After the Build

We offer maintenance and seasonal care too, so the team that built your pool can keep it running season after season.

Smaller Upgrades Welcome

Adding lights to an existing pool or a fire pit beside an old patio is a project we are happy to quote.

Financing Options

A lending partner can help spread the cost of a larger outdoor living project into manageable payments.

Every Service We Offer in Hudson, NH

From a new pool to a single drainage fix, these are the pool, landscape and site services available to Hudson homeowners. Small jobs are welcome.

Can I add a hot tub to my pool in Hudson?

Yes. A spillover spa is built into the pool design and shares its filtration, with valves that let you heat the spa on its own. It can be part of a new pool or, in some cases, added to an existing one during a remodel. See spillover spa installation for how it works.

Most of our full projects range from $50,000 to $150,000. Adding a spa, outdoor kitchen or extensive lighting pushes toward the upper end, while a simpler pool with a modest patio sits lower. We give you a budget range at the concept stage, and our financing page explains payment options.

Often, yes. Land within 250 feet of the Merrimack River falls under the New Hampshire Shoreland Water Quality Protection Act, so excavation and new structures there may need a shoreland permit from NHDES on top of the town building permit. Every pool also has to meet state barrier rules. We check this at the first site visit.

All pool electrical work, including underwater lights, pumps and bonding, is done by a licensed electrician and inspected. We coordinate that work with the rest of the build. Our pool lighting page covers LED options and retrofits for older pools.

Yes. Our maintenance service covers water balance, cleaning and equipment checks for most inground pools, whoever built them. Service calls are work we actively want, and we will never push a renovation you do not need. Read more on our pool maintenance page.

We also serve Nashua across the river, plus Pelham, Londonderry, Windham and Merrimack. On the Massachusetts side we work in Dracut and its neighbors. Ask us about your address if it is not listed here.
