Billerica is a town of villages, including Billerica Center, North and East Billerica, Pinehurst and Nutting Lake, with the Concord and Shawsheen rivers running through it. Mountainscapes builds new pools and outdoor living spaces in Billerica, and we put real effort into improving what is already there: a pool with cracked coping, a deck that has faded, or a patio that has sunk in spots. No job is too small to ask about.
A Billerica pool that still holds water well can often be brought back with new coping, tile and a modern deck rather than torn out. Our pool remodeling work changes the look and layout, and the space around it can gain a paver patio or a fire pit.
New liner pools with steel or polymer walls, custom shapes and good value for the size.
A tight, fresh liner for an existing pool, measured on site and installed after floor repairs.
New tile, resurfacing, reshaped steps or an added ledge to give an older pool a new layout.
Cracked or loose coping replaced with stone, precast or brick so the pool edge is safe again.
Pavers, natural stone or concrete around the pool, picked for grip, heat and freeze-thaw.
Interlocking paver patios and walkways set on a compacted base with solid edge restraint.
Wood-burning or gas fire pits with built-in seating, placed at a safe distance from the house.
Drains and dry wells for yards that stay wet after rain, a frequent problem on low ground near rivers.
It only takes 30 seconds.

Chris installed a beautiful gunite pool for me. My kids love it and they cherish the day it gets opened. Chris did an amazing job designing the layout. He is a true artisan. I’ve been in business for 37 years and I’ve been around countless contractors. I highly recommend Mountainscapes.
I had the need for an emergency skimmer replacement during a pool deck replacement. Mountainscapes was the only company that got back to me and came right out and fixed things up to keep my project on schedule. Chris and his team were top notch. Highly recommended.
I have engaged Chris and his team on a number of landscape projects over the years. The pricing is good, the end result gorgeous, and Chris is always a pleasure to work with.
My experience having a pool installed was a great one! The owner Chris, worked with me to get exactly what I wanted. The team was friendly and very professional. I would highly recommend them!
Working with Chris and his team from MountainScapes was truly a pleasure building our pool this past year. Chris was a huge help working with the town on permitting and approvals (our town is notoriously difficult) and in helping us make our design dreams a reality.
...Today, one year post-completion, we are thrilled with the quality of MountainScapes' work. Chris, in particular, is something of a pool artist. It was truly worth it, but as homeowners you need to be prepared to be patient!
If you are considering an inground pool or any type of hardscape to your property, I would not recommend anyone other than Mountainscapes! Responsiveness, quality, professionalism!
Why Mountainscapes
Christopher Underwood holds a Landscape Architecture degree and over 20 years of experience in landscape construction and swimming pools. Because we build pools from scratch, we know how coping, decks and liners are meant to fit together, which helps when a Billerica pool needs repairs instead of replacement.

Is it worth remodeling an older pool in Billerica?
Often it is, as long as the walls and floor are sound. New coping, a fresh liner or surface and a better deck can make an old pool feel new. Our article on renovating versus building new goes into the tradeoffs.
Why is my pool coping cracking?
Coping cracks from freeze and thaw, from the deck beside it settling, or from water getting under the stones. Loose coping is a trip hazard and lets water behind the liner or shell, so it is worth fixing early. Read what causes coping to crack for more.
What should I budget for pool work in Billerica?
A coping repair, liner swap or deck refresh costs far less than a new pool, and we price each one on its own. For complete new pool and landscape projects, most of ours range from $50,000 to $150,000, depending on pool type, size and the hardscape around it.
Do pool projects in Billerica need permits?
A new inground pool needs a building permit from the Town of Billerica and must meet the barrier and fencing requirements of the Massachusetts building code. Lots near the Concord River, the Shawsheen River or Nutting Lake may also need Billerica Conservation Commission review under the Wetlands Protection Act. Pool lights and pumps are wired by a licensed electrician.
Pavers or stone for a patio around the pool?
Pavers are uniform, easy to repair and come in many colors. Natural stone such as bluestone has a more traditional look, though darker stone gets hot in full sun. Our stone versus concrete patio guide compares cost and care.
