Pool and Yard Construction Across Dracut

Site-first planning for ponds, brooks and open land

Dracut is a town of brooks, ponds, bogs and swamps, with Beaver Brook cutting through the middle and Long Pond among its larger bodies of water. Areas near Lowell feel more built up, while other parts of town still have open, rural land. Mountainscapes looks at the ground before the design, because a pool or patio on a soggy lot needs proper grading and drainage first. We build new pools and full landscapes in Dracut, and we are just as glad to sort out one wet corner or a pool that needs regular care.

Our Process

From Site Visit to Finished Yard in Dracut

// Phase 1
Read the Site
We start on foot, checking soil, standing water, nearby brooks or wetlands, and where trucks and an excavator can get in.
// Phase 2
Agree on Scope and Cost
We share a concept drawing and a budget range, and say plainly which items are essential and which are optional.
// Phase 3
Clear the Approvals
Dracut building permits, conservation commission filings near wetlands and Dig Safe notice are lined up before anyone breaks ground.
// Phase 4
Build in the Right Order
Clearing, grading and drainage go in first, followed by the pool or hardscape, then topsoil, seed and planting to finish.

It only takes 30 seconds.

Chris installed a beautiful gunite pool for me. My kids love it and they cherish the day it gets opened. Chris did an amazing job designing the layout. He is a true artisan. I’ve been in business for 37 years and I’ve been around countless contractors. I highly recommend Mountainscapes.

I had the need for an emergency skimmer replacement during a pool deck replacement. Mountainscapes was the only company that got back to me and came right out and fixed things up to keep my project on schedule. Chris and his team were top notch. Highly recommended.

Working with Chris and his team from MountainScapes was truly a pleasure building our pool this past year. Chris was a huge help working with the town on permitting and approvals (our town is notoriously difficult) and in helping us make our design dreams a reality.

...Today, one year post-completion, we are thrilled with the quality of MountainScapes' work. Chris, in particular, is something of a pool artist. It was truly worth it, but as homeowners you need to be prepared to be patient!

Why Mountainscapes

Why a Design-Build Team Suits Dracut Lots

Pool and landscape construction since 2012

Our founder, Christopher Underwood, studied Landscape Architecture and has spent over 20 years in landscape construction and swimming pools. On wet or uneven Dracut ground, that training shows up in how a site is graded and drained before any of the visible work starts.

Small Fixes Count Too

A single drain line, a pool service visit or a short wall repair gets proper attention, the same as a full build.

Site Work In House

Clearing, excavation and grading are handled by our own team, so the ground is ready when the pool crew arrives.

Wetland Paperwork Support

We coordinate with engineers and wetland consultants when a project sits close to a brook, pond or bog.

Payment Options

Financing through our lending partner can make a larger pool or landscape project easier to plan for.

Every Service We Offer in Dracut, MA

From a new pool to a single drainage fix, these are the pool, landscape and site services available to Dracut homeowners. Small jobs are welcome.

Can you build a pool on a wet lot in Dracut?

In many cases, yes. We look at groundwater, soil and nearby wetlands first. Some lots need drainage, fill or a different pool location, and some need conservation commission approval. Our guide to building a pool in MA and NH walks through what to expect.

Pool type, size, site prep and the amount of patio and landscaping all move the number. Most of our full projects land between $50,000 and $150,000. Lots that need clearing or drainage add to the site work, while a maintenance plan or small repair costs a small fraction of that.

The Dracut building department issues the permit for an inground pool, and the pool must meet Massachusetts building code rules for barriers and fencing. With so many brooks, ponds and bogs in town, work near a wetland may also go before the Dracut Conservation Commission under the Wetlands Protection Act. We help you through both.

Yes. We handle water balance, cleaning and equipment checks, plus spring openings and fall closings. Service customers are welcome even if we did not build the pool. Our pool maintenance page explains what a visit includes.

For large open areas and slopes, hydroseeding usually costs less and helps hold soil in place while the grass fills in. Sod gives an instant lawn and suits smaller areas near the house or pool. Many yards use both, with sod by the patio and hydroseed further out.

Yes. Dracut borders Pelham, NH to the north, plus Methuen, Tyngsborough and Lowell. We also cover Tewksbury, Chelmsford, Windham, Salem and Hudson. Send us your address and we will confirm.
